Homework due 11/6/14

1.  Watch the BBC and record at least 2 news stories.
*** Finish any homework from last week (see if  UN Permanent Mission to Cuba is working)***
2. Print out the background guide for your topic and add it to your binder (Follow the links on the MMUN web site:  on top tool bar, click "Confereence"-->Upper Elementary New York City-->background guides (right hand side)  )

3. Read through the background guide several times.  Make a list of key terms from the article.

4. Start answering the questions at the end of the guide.  Use the web sites listed at the guide as a resource.

5. Make sure you have the e-mail address of your committee partner.  Memorize the name of your committee, your topic and your partner's topic (see e-mail).

Answer the following questions:

a. What is Cuba's response to the ebola virus?  What are they doing in Africa?

b. What is Cuba doing in regards to climate change?  In their opinion, what is one of their major obstacles?

c. Read the statement about nuclear disarmament.  What is meant by the Peace Zone?

*** These UN documents are difficult to read.  Please read through them with an adult.
